PTS is seeking to fill our open position for a CFD Engineer immediately. The CFD Engineer will work with our Consulting & Engineering Services Manager in our Franklin Lakes, New Jersey office.

The role of the CFD Engineer will involve engaging in R&D works as well as acting as a technical advisor providing expert advice & guidance to the design-engineering department on all CFD related matters. The engineer should plan, develop and complete data center engineering projects in CFD, with emphasis on analysis and detailed documentation in technical reports. The engineer will be involved in applications consulting projects (data center) and take responsibility for complex analyses. The suitable candidates should have experience in a laboratory environment (academic/industrial, with experience in CFD Software, heat transfer experimentation and the composition and analysis of test results. The Engineer will also work with the mechanical design team in the design and specification of cooling (HVAC) systems for data center and computer room projects. The CFD Engineer will be responsible for simulating the design and engineering of computer room air conditioner (CRAC) systems, air distribution systems, HVAC systems, heat rejection systems including condensers, chillers, and cooling towers. Daily tasks will include CFD modeling & analysis, providing technical help, systems design, conducting field visits, site surveys, system assessments, load calculations, systems narratives, and specifications. The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate high flexibility and be adaptable.

Qualifications

  • MS or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • In-depth knowledge of fluid mechanics (fundamental principles), CFD simulation, and heat transfer principles, and ability to conceive ideas to solve design problems.
  • Thorough Understanding of thermal analysis and cooling system design for data center or related building applications

The Data Center Facility Project Manager will be responsible for providing pre-construction through post-construction project management services for projects including the start-up of new and/or the upgrade of existing data center and computer room facilities. He/she will serve as the primary liaison between PTS and the client's IT & facilities stakeholders as well as the project's architects, engineers, and other consultants in establishing and delivering on the project's scope, schedule, and budget requirements.

Qualifications

The Structured Cabling Systems Designer will be responsible for the design and specification of telecommunications cable plants for technology projects. Project types include both new buildings and retrofits in virtually all market verticals including commercial, education, government, health care, retail, and residential. The Structured Cabling Systems Designer will be the primary project manager responsible for collecting client requirements and translating them into construction documents for implementation by professional telecommunications contractors.

Qualifications
  • Understanding of telecommunications structured cabling design and implementation requirements for data center, computer room, as well as other mission critical environments
  • Possess a strong awareness of current and emerging industry standards including BICSI, IEEE, and TIA/EIA as well as vendors and technologies as they relate to the data center physical plant
