Job Description
PTS is seeking to fill our open position for an Electrical Design Engineer immediately. The Electrical Design Engineer will be a part of the engineering department in our Franklin Lakes, New Jersey office.
The Electrical Design Engineer will be a part of the design and engineering team dedicated to the design and specification of electrical systems for office and light industrial critical projects. The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and engineering of utility systems, service entrance and distribution switchgear, emergency power systems and their related transfer systems, power distribution, grounding, lighting, fire detection and alarm systems, and both low-voltage controls, as well as all related conduit, wire, and details for both medium and low voltage applications. Daily tasks will include conducting field site surveys, systems assessments, creating of CAD-based plans, schematics, and coordinated construction documents, equipment selection, load calculations, control diagrams, systems narratives, commissioning planning & execution, and creating specifications documents.
Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering with approximately 5 years’ experience in commercial and light industrial electrical design engineering
- Understanding of electrical system design and construction requirements for office and light industrial projects from concept through commissioning
- Possess a strong awareness of current and emerging industry standards, vendors, and technologies as they relate to the office and light industrial electrical infrastructure industry
- Display an in-depth knowledge of commercial and light industrial electrical systems including, utility systems, service entrance, and distribution switchgear, emergency power systems and their related transfer systems, power distribution, grounding, lighting, fire detection and alarm systems, and low-voltage controls, as well as all related conduit, wire, and details for both medium and low voltage applications

- Extensive project management activities:
- Responsible for multiple concurrent projects through all phases; including, but not limited to, requirements gathering, design development, construction, and commissioning

Manager immediately. The Data Center Facility Project Manager will work with
the Vice Presidents of Services & Fulfillment and Sales & Marketing to discover,

construction, and maintenance opportunities in the medium business space, nation-wide.
The Data Center Facility Project Manager will be responsible for providing pre-construction
through post-construction project management services for projects including the start-up
of new and/or the upgrade of existing data center and computer room facilities.
He/she will serve as the primary liaison between PTS and the client's IT
& facilities stakeholders
as well as the project's architects, engineers, and other consultants in establishing and delivering

Qualifications

to fill our open position for a Data Center Structured Cabling
Systems Designer immediately. The Structured Cabling Systems
Designer will work with Consulting & Engineering Services
Manager in the development of construction drawings and bid
specifications used in the procurement and installation of
telecommunications infrastructure.
The Structured Cabling
Systems Designer will be responsible for the design and
specification of telecommunications cable plants for technology
projects. Project types include both new buildings and retrofits
in virtually all market verticals including commercial,
education, government, health care, retail, and residential. The
Structured Cabling Systems Designer will be the primary project
manager responsible for collecting client requirements and
translating them into construction documents for implementation
by professional telecommunications contractors.
Qualifications
- Understanding of telecommunications structured cabling design and implementation requirements for data center, computer room, as well as other mission critical environments
- Possess a strong awareness of current and emerging industry standards including BICSI, IEEE, and TIA/EIA as well as vendors and technologies as they relate to the data center physical plant
