position for a Data Center IT Strategy & Design Manager
immediately. The Data Center IT Strategy & Design Manager will
work with the Vice President of Consulting and Engineering
Services in the development and offering of data center
architecture, strategy, analysis, design, and management
services.
The Data Center IT
Strategy & Design Manager will be responsible for developing
strategies for and fulfilling client requirements for surveying
and assessing existing data center operations, architecture, IT
systems, strategies, staffing, outsourcing, and business
processes. Additionally, they will be responsible for the
definition and architecture of data center hardware and software
solutions. Finally, they will develop strategies for and fulfill
client requirements for IT infrastructure strategic planning for
projects including computer room relocations,
virtualization/consolidations, and data center design,
expansion, and/or modifications.
Qualifications
- Clearly articulate how to design data center networks as an end-to-end solution and they evolve over time in multiple vertical markets
- Strong knowledge of network switching and communication/processing system architecture as well as an understanding of traffic management
- In-depth knowledge of data center, server computing and storage systems architecture, and network security, as well ethernet routing, switching, and networking protocols and QoS
- Understanding of congestion management in networks as well as bandwidth management
- Possess a strong awareness of current and emerging industry standards and vendors and technologies as they relate to data center IT systems
- Display an in-depth knowledge of networking platforms including LAN, MAN, WAN,
& SAN environments, topologies, hardware, and software
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of voice technology platforms including PBX, IPT, VoIP, and CENTREX based solutions

PTS is seeking
to fill our open position for a Data Center Structured Cabling
Systems Designer immediately. The Structured Cabling Systems
Designer will work with Consulting & Engineering Services
Manager in the development of construction drawings and bid
specifications used in the procurement and installation of
telecommunications infrastructure.
The Structured Cabling
Systems Designer will be responsible for the design and
specification of telecommunications cable plants for technology
projects. Project types include both new buildings and retrofits
in virtually all market verticals including commercial,
education, government, health care, retail, and residential. The
Structured Cabling Systems Designer will be the primary project
manager responsible for collecting client requirements and
translating them into construction documents for implementation
by professional telecommunications contractors.
Qualifications
- Understanding of telecommunications structured cabling design and implementation requirements for data center, computer room, as well as other mission critical environments
- Possess a strong awareness of current and emerging industry standards including BICSI, IEEE, and TIA/EIA as well as vendors and technologies as they relate to the data center physical plant
- Registered communication distribution designer (RCDD) certification is preferred
- Display an in-depth knowledge of networking platforms as they directly impact cable infrastructure; including LAN, MAN, WAN,

The Electrical Design Engineer will work with the electrical design team in
the design and specification of electrical systems for data center and computer room projects.
The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and engineering of
power protection and distribution systems including sub-systems such as utility switchgear,
emergency generators, ATS, UPS, and PDU as well as related conduit and wire sizing.
Daily tasks will include conducting field visits, site surveys, systems assessments,
creating of plans, schematics, equipment selection, load calculations, control diagrams,
systems narratives, and specifications.
